Japanese vs Korean vs Hindu head spa

Japanese head spa is diagnostic and precise. Korean head spa is product- and treatment-layered. Hindu head spa is warm oil, marma pressure points and stillness. The scalp outcome overlaps heavily.

  • All three include a double cleanse and an extended scalp massage.
  • Japanese: micro-camera diagnostics, meticulous sectioning, clinical precision.
  • Korean: layered treatments, ampoules and masks, strong finish on hair condition.
  • Hindu: warm oil, marma points, sustained pressure, nervous-system focus.

What they share

Every tradition worth the name follows the same spine: read the scalp, cleanse twice, clear buildup, massage at length, apply warmth, finish with a targeted treatment, dry. If a studio skips two of those, the label on the door does not matter.

Japanese head spa

The most clinical of the three. Expect a micro-camera scalp read on a screen, careful sectioning, precise cleansing technique and a strong emphasis on follicle clarity and product removal. Pacing is exact.

Choose it if you want to see data about your scalp and value precision over warmth.

Korean head spa

Product-forward, in line with Korean skincare culture generally. Layered ampoules, scalp serums, masks and often a stronger emphasis on the finished condition and shine of the hair itself.

Choose it if you care most about how your hair looks and feels walking out.

Hindu head spa

The oldest lineage of the three, champi and marma-point work, warm oil, and sustained pressure through the crown, temples, occipital ridge and neck. The nervous system is the target, not a side effect.

The scalp outcomes match the others: buildup cleared, hydration or detox restored, tension released. The difference is how deeply you drop out of the day.

This is what we practice at The Temple, combined with the warmth of a Moroccan hammam.

Which should you book?

If you have never had one, the label matters far less than the studio. Book the one with the longest hands-on massage time, a real scalp read, and a quiet room. Come back for the tradition you liked.
