off the Strip.
We are not on the Strip, that is the point. Fifteen to twenty minutes west, and considerably quieter.
The Temple Head Spa has one location: 4235 S. Fort Apache Rd., Suite 100-00, Las Vegas, NV 89147. From most Strip hotels that is a 15 to 20 minute drive west, depending on traffic, a straight shot out on Tropicana, Flamingo or the 215.
Resort spas are built to serve a hotel. This room was built to serve the scalp: no gym traffic, no locker rooms, no music competing with the treatment. Appointment only, one guest at a time in the room.
Free parking at the suite, so a rideshare or a rental both work fine.
Timing it around a trip
Plan 60 to 105 minutes in the room plus 10 minutes to settle in, and about 40 minutes of round-trip driving. Late morning and early afternoon on Tuesday through Thursday are the easiest slots to get.
You leave with your hair washed, treated and fully blow dried, it works well before a dinner reservation or a show, less well right before a pool day.
Why guests come out here
Hotel spa menus treat a scalp treatment as a 30-minute add-on. Ours is the entire appointment, with 20 to 40 minutes of hands-on scalp massage depending on which ritual you book.
Prices are published, nothing is upsold in the chair, and there is no resort fee attached.
Good for jet lag and dry air
Desert air, pool chlorine, plane cabins and three days of dry shampoo add up fast. The Purification ($125) is the usual pick mid-trip; The Restoration ($155) if the pool or the sun did real damage.
