Your first head spa, start to finish

Arrive 10 minutes early, come with clean or unwashed hair, plan for 60–105 minutes, and expect to leave with dry, finished hair.

  • Come as you are, no need to wash your hair beforehand.
  • Arrive 10 minutes early so the ritual starts settled, not rushed.
  • You will be reclined, covered, and fully clothed the entire time.
  • You leave with hair washed and blow dried, not damp.

Before you go

Do not pre-wash. Every head spa opens with a double cleanse, and a slightly lived-in scalp actually gives the therapist a more honest read.

Skip heavy oils or dry shampoo the morning of. Wear something comfortable with a low neckline or collar you do not mind getting slightly damp, you stay fully clothed throughout.

Eat something light beforehand. Sustained pressure work on an empty stomach can leave you lightheaded.

The first ten minutes

You will sit for a short consultation: how your scalp behaves, whether it flakes, itches, gets oily by day two, how your hair is colored or treated, and where you hold tension. The therapist reads the scalp by hand and light.

Then you are reclined at the basin with your neck supported. Phones go away. Most studios dim the light and drop the sound at this point.

The treatment itself

First cleanse, exfoliation, second cleanse, this clears the surface, then the follicle. Then the long stretch people come for: 20 to 40 minutes of scalp massage moving through the crown, temples, occipital ridge, neck and shoulders, usually with warm water or warm oil.

Steam or a warm towel follows, then a finishing treatment matched to your scalp, hydration, detox or repair. A final rinse and a full blow dry.

Falling asleep is normal and not rude. Most people do.

Afterwards

Your scalp may feel unusually light and slightly cool for a few hours. Drink water. Some people feel a mild post-massage drowsiness, do not schedule anything demanding right after if you can help it.

Tipping follows normal spa etiquette in Las Vegas: 18–20% is standard. Rebooking cadence is typically every 4 to 6 weeks.
